MINISTER’S MESSAGE

On behalf of the Northern Territory Government, I am delighted to welcome you to the 2019 Darwin Triple Crown.

With a week-long schedule of fantastic activities both on and off the track, there is truly something for all members of the family and I encourage each and every one of you to get involved.

Kicking off the 22nd year of Darwin supercars is the Transporter Night Convoy on Wednesday night, where both locals and visitors can get see the 2019 Darwin Triple Crown procession make their way into the city from Hidden Valley.

We are transforming Darwin CBD into a world-class tourist and cultural destination, creating jobs for Territorians and supporting local business, and the Supercar activation of the city is part of that transformation.

Fans can watch on along the convoy route or get involved in the free family fun at Raintree Park with kids’ entertainment, food stalls, music and shopping.

Hidden Valley’s Merchandise Alley will be a family favourite over the weekend with kids’ entertainment, interactive displays, trade stalls, food and beverage outlets, displays and of course numerous retailers and official merchandise providers.

As well as a whole range of exciting new entertainment, the much-anticipated RACE & ROCK concerts are back.

The NT Government is proud to contribute $3 million to bring the Supercars to the NT. With over 40,000 spectators enjoying the event each year, including 4000 car-lovers from interstate, it returns some $16 million to the Territory economy annually.

Whether you’re a visitor or a Territory local, I extend a warm welcome to you all and hope you enjoy all of the exciting motorsport action that this year’s Darwin Triple Crown has to offer at Hidden Valley on 14-16 June.
