The betr Darwin Triple Crown Supercars Indigenous Round is set to roar back into Hidden Valley Raceway from 14-16 June 2024.

Volunteer officials are essential to the success of this event and we love welcoming back familiar faces each year. We’re always on the look-out for new volunteers to help deliver this iconic Territory event as well. For more info and to register, click the link below.

INFORMATION ON POSITIONS

Do you love working behind the scenes? Or would you rather be in the thick of the action? Whatever your skills or interests, there is a role for you!

EQUIPMENT TEAM

The equipment team distributes trackside equipment each morning and collects it after racing. This team may also be called upon to relocate equipment as required and deliver refreshments to officials.

FIRE AND RESCUE TEAM

The fire and rescue team is made up of trained fire and rescue marshals stationed in designated fire vehicles or on foot around the track and in pit lane.

FLAG, TRACK AND COMMUNICATIONS TEAM

These officials are appointed to flag points surrounding the circuit and give flag signals to the drivers on track. Their duties also include rescuing drivers, helping the fire and rescue marshals and sweeping the track.

The communications team is made up of observers located at flag points around the track. The team’s task is to observe the circuit and report to race control. They will also relay instructions from race control to officials at the flag point.  

Officials interested in this team must be competent using a two-way radio.

PADDOCK TEAM

This team manages the paddock and marshalling area, where cars form up in race order before being released to the starting grid.

PIT AND GRID TEAM

Pit and grid team duties include directing vehicles and patrons in pit lane and the paddock area. The team also ensures appropriate speeds are maintained in pit lane.

VEHICLE RECOVERY TEAM

The vehicle recovery team recovers “dead cars” from around the circuit and returns them to the paddock, pit lane or the scrutineers as appropriate.

SCRUTINEERING TEAM

The scrutineers check all vehicles for safety and eligibility, and examine vehicles involved in accidents.

TIMING TEAM

This team records the time of each lap of every vehicle during practice, qualifying sessions and races, and produces the printed official results of all events.
